In the age of digitalization, the interface between the machine, the application and the users is becoming increasingly important. The human-machine interface (HMI) occupies a central position here. It ensures acceptance, ease of use and thus the quality of the application.
But: How do I design this interface? Various software solutions are available from different manufacturers. To help you get started, make a selection and ultimately make a decision, we have looked at these solutions in a study. And, even better: We have summarized the results in a selection tool.
You can easily start the selection process according to your individual requirements. To do so, drag the elements that are relevant to you into the evaluation circle. The closer the element is to the center, the more important it is for you.

My main task in this project was the design and development of this HMI tool front-end. Each design parameter is given a value. I have developed an algorithm to find an average value for each HMI tool in combination of several parameters to define the best HMI tool for user. Depending on the importance zone, each parameter gets an extra multiplier, which has an influence on the recommended application.
